Meet Reverend Jan Kennedy In the fall of 2006 the Session of 1st Presbyterian Church of Elgin selected the Rev. Jan Kennedy to be the interim pastor during the search for a replacement for the retired Rev Peter Boeve. Rev. Jan Kennedy is a trained interim pastor. In May of 2006 she completed an interim assignment at Central Presbyterian Church in New Lenox. Previous to that, she was interim pastor in Bolingbrook and Danville. She received her M.Div. from McCormick Theological Seminary and a MS in Counseling Psychology from George Williams College. In Blackhawk Presbytery she is co-moderator of the Mission Strategies and Resources Board and works with new church development. In 2005, Rev. Jan moved to McHenry where she and her husband Al built a new home. They spent the summer learning about landscaping with plants native to the prairies of the Midwest and giving tender loving care to a newly seeded lawn. Spending time with her four grandchildren keeps her busy. On her future to do list are a trip to visit their son who lives in Thailand and an Alaskan cruise. Rev. Jan asks that you feel free to stop by the office for conversation and coffee. It would be best to call first to make sure she is in. |
